Last year, I was in America. I spent about two weeks with my host family and five days with the other german students and my teachers in Chicago. I learned much in these three weeks. For exemple, that the schools system is different. They haven't classrooms. Every teacher has his own room and in the break, the students change the room. One hour was about 70 Minutes long and every student had 5 or 6 classes per day. I liked chemestry a lot. And they also had art, sport, German, English, government, history but moreover classes like Chinese or Japanese. That's all at the moment cause I'm too lazy :3

I like the idea of this thread! I'm always trying to improve my english because next Year I'm going to write my finals in this subject. I also love to read books and watch movies in english. Are you okay with your english or do you want to improve your skills? It may Sound strange but I'm very interested in the language, they have so many words, in german you just have a few words for example "going" but in english you have so many options to change the meaning of the word without changing the action it describes. Okay ist sounds strange Whatever...I am also to lazy to do my homework, i rather spend my spare time reading or walking my dogs ^^

As a normal user (do americans/english people use this word at all or is it ''german''? ) like you are one, you get stars for being very active here. I don't know exactly but, as I remember, you get one star for 5000 posts.

Thats right, when you are realy active and write a lot of texts in the RPG, you'll get one star. I think you'll get it When you write about 5,000 posts. Americans also use the word 'user' but I'm not sure about the britains ^^ they often have individual words. Just one thing LauraWilli, it would be great, when you dont write two post in a short time, you can edit the post when you forgot or want to change Something

I have a question Do you prefer AE or BE? Since I was in America, I try to write everything in AE but that's not easy because I only learn BE in school. I know that words like gas station and elevator are typical AE but also words like summarize and summerise are different. That's very confusing ^^ But I prefer the American words. I don't know why ... maybe because I used them in 'reallife' and I never needed the BE to communicate with somebody.

O Jesus I'm not very good in speaking or writing english, but I'll try xD I like the thread, it's a good idea and maybe I can improve my english skills a little bit. I don't understand the difference between AE and BE. It don't gives actually big differences, just the one or other word maybe will be spelled different, so how I learned it in the school o,o.

To be honest, i like both^^ It depends On the situation I think, when I'm writing an exam I'll focus an EE but when I'm like just talking to people or writing some shit, I often write AE or mix them. We can decide If We want to learn AE or EE, I choose EE because most of the series I'm watching are from Britain
